Arbitrating banking disputes: addressing the needs of the financial services sector

This panel will explore the traditional reasons why the banking sector has not used arbitration to resolve disputes (the need for summary judgment processes, Mareva injunctions, and the threat of contempt and sanctions against third parties who do not facilitate asset freezes). The panellists will consider the extent to which modern arbitration rules and practice can meet the needs of the sector, and what more needs to be done.
