ICC Canada – Navigating the Grey: Conflicts of Interest
This session will help you make more informed decisions when applying the multitude of laws, rules and guidelines on conflicts of interest.
Following a keynote address, the panel will debate key conflict issues through the perspective of counsel, arbitrators and institutions. Topics will include when to challenge an arbitrator, whether actual knowledge of a conflict matters, and views of independence and impartiality in different legal systems and institutions. The discussion will also address the new IBA Guidelines on Conflicts of Interest in International Arbitration, the ICC’s guidance on conflict disclosures by arbitrators and recent case law from across the globe.
