Panel: The Case for Emergency or Interim Relief in Arbitration
The need for speed in early stage and mature disputes in arbitration has led to the development of more robust and, in some cases, innovative tools to assist parties in securing rapid relief on an interim basis, such as orders to preserve the status quo, freeze assets, enjoin conduct, and secure evidence. The panel will discuss the development of such tools, what they offer and do not offer, and provide some sight lines on what we are likely to see going forward.
Panelists: Stephanie Cohen, FCIArb, Independent Arbitrator, Brooklyn, NY
Professor Loukas Mistelis, Clive Schmitthoff Professor of Transnational Commercial Law and Arbitration, Queen Mary University of London, and Partner, Clyde & Co. London
Moderator: Alison Fitzgerald, Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP, Ottawa
